Department Information

Missouri Valley Fire Department is located in Iowa just 24 miles north of Omaha, NE, 79 miles south of the Sioux City, IA, and 13 miles east of Blair, NE.  The Fire Department covers 136.03 square miles.  The current population is 5332 residents. 

 

The Missouri Valley Fire Department is a Fire and Rescue Department.  The department is a volunteer department that is responsible for the response and mitigation of fire, rescue, emergency medical, special operations, emergency management, and public safety education.

 

The department is located at City Hall along with the City Offices and a secondary Emergency Dispatch Center.  The department is able to achieve its goals with a workforce comprised of 27 volunteer personnel who operate out of 1 fire & rescue station.  The city has 2 Engines, 1 Tanker Truck, 1 Heavy Rescue Squad, 2 Ambulances (BLS / ALS), 2 fire brush trucks and 1 Equipment hauler.  The entire Department is staffed by 27 volunteer personnel.
